It’s time to get outside!
The warm weather finally arrived in Colorado this weekend. Hopefully, it is here to stay because I can’t wait to spend more time outdoors. Our family has a couple of small trips planned this summer, which is exciting after being home for the last year. We also plan to spend a lot of time outside; at home, the cabin, and camping in the mountains.

Outdoor Movies
One fun activity we are excited to do this summer is an outdoor movie. You can setup in your backyard, or involve the neighbors in an outdoor theater. The following items all come together to create a fun nighttime activity for kids and adults alike! This projector is reasonably priced and you can project on a large outdoor screen, or even hang a sheet on the side of your house. Outdoor cushions, camping chairs and picnic blankets offer plenty of seating. We can’t wait to have a neighborhood movie night this summer!

Water Fun
Water play is always a great way to cool off and spend time outdoors. There is something about a sprinkler that brings the laughs, even my 13 year old likes to run through a sprinkler. There are some extravagant inflatable options, but sometimes a simple sprinkler is all you need. Younger kids love water and sand tables too, which offer hours of fun! Don’t forget the water pistols and water balloons, these balloons are a great option because you can fill a bunch at one time for a fun neighborhood activity.

Outdoor Games
Outdoor games will up the fun level at your next BBQ, beach, or camping trip. We travel with this awesome bean bag game and it is always a hit. We also love playing Bocce ball at the cabin and making our own natural bocce courses. The ladder, bowling, and cornhole games are also great activities for adults and kids. I guess people like throwing things when they are outside! Another game we enjoy is laser tag, which is really fun addition to hide and seek at night, but would be even better outside in the backyard.

Sun & Shade
The sun in Colorado is pretty intense, you can get a sunburn really quickly. No matter where you live, if you are spending a lot of time outdoors it is always a good idea to protect yourself from the sun and have options for shade. These shade tents and sun hats will provide protection and an option to take a break from the heat, especially if you are at the beach or away from an indoor retreat.
