For our first attempt with the air fryer we made delicious steak fries, this time around we decided to try and make a healthier option, Sweet Potato Fries. I love how the air fryer creates the crispy experience without all of the excess oil. For this recipe I incorporated the seasoning I typically use on my roasted sweet potatoes, and the result was equally as good! If you are a fan of the air fryer, check out my Chicken Tenders recipe for another healthier option.

Sweet Potato Fries

Serving Size:
4
Time:
60 min
Difficulty:
Easy

Ingredients

  • 2 Large Sweet Potatoes
  • Olive oil spray
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp ground pepper
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • Grated parmesan
  • 2 Tbsps. chopped parsley (garnish)

Directions

  1. Peel and chop the sweet potatoes into fries (keep thickness consitant)
  2. Soak the chopped potatoes in cold or ice water for 30 minutes. This helps remove the starch and results in crispier fries.
  3. Let the sweet potatoes dry and then toss in a bowl with a light coat of olive oil.
  4. Add all the spices and coat evenly on all of the fries.
  5. Place the fries on the air fryer basket, try not to overlap them, you may have to split into two batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  6. Cook at 400 degrees for 15 minutes, flipping them halfway.
  7. Garnish with parmesan and parsley.

Pair with your favorite dipping sauce!

This is the Air Fryer we use and love. It has several different functions, fits a 12 inch pizza and also replaced our toaster. I love that it folds up to take up less counter space.

I can’t wait to try out some more air fryer recipes, I will be back with more soon!
