For our first attempt with the air fryer we made delicious steak fries, this time around we decided to try and make a healthier option, Sweet Potato Fries. I love how the air fryer creates the crispy experience without all of the excess oil. For this recipe I incorporated the seasoning I typically use on my roasted sweet potatoes, and the result was equally as good! If you are a fan of the air fryer, check out my Chicken Tenders recipe for another healthier option.
Sweet Potato Fries
Ingredients
- 2 Large Sweet Potatoes
- Olive oil spray
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp ground pepper
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- Grated parmesan
- 2 Tbsps. chopped parsley (garnish)
Directions
- Peel and chop the sweet potatoes into fries (keep thickness consitant)
- Soak the chopped potatoes in cold or ice water for 30 minutes. This helps remove the starch and results in crispier fries.
- Let the sweet potatoes dry and then toss in a bowl with a light coat of olive oil.
- Add all the spices and coat evenly on all of the fries.
- Place the fries on the air fryer basket, try not to overlap them, you may have to split into two batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
- Cook at 400 degrees for 15 minutes, flipping them halfway.
- Garnish with parmesan and parsley.
Pair with your favorite dipping sauce!
This is the Air Fryer we use and love. It has several different functions, fits a 12 inch pizza and also replaced our toaster. I love that it folds up to take up less counter space.
I can’t wait to try out some more air fryer recipes, I will be back with more soon!
